Just like last week, injuries are creating opportunities for the vigilant fantasy player.

No trade action yet, but injuries are piling up! Since the last article, two severe injuries occurred ot Bynum and Jameer Nelson. Minor injuries occurred to CP3 and Deron Williams. Read quickly and take action!

Althought I touched on trades last week,
http://fantasysportsmatrix.com/blogs/sportsnut/fantasy_basketball_www11#
nothing has happened yet. However, something will go down before the deadline, mark my words! While we wait for the deals to happen, more gems are appearing on the waivers.
Ramon Sessions, G, Bucks — If you don’t know already, Redd is out for the season and Skiles tapped Sessions to be the starter at SG. He was already a speculative pick up because of trade rumors, but now he is a must pick up because he is starting. Puts up all your typical PG stats except 3 ptrs.

Down and out about your fantasy basketball team? As Obama said, ‘Choose hope, not fear’. While no trades have happened yet, you should keep your eyes on DJ and Sessions as I mentioned last week.

So, I’ll admit I don’t seem to be correct about Bargnani, as I noted last week.
http://fantasysportsmatrix.com/blogs/sportsnut/fantasy_basketball_www9#
He’s still putting up solid numbers while JO is out. Of course, JO seems to be always out, so it’s entirely possible this string of outings has given Bargnani the needed confidence to produce night in and night out and will continue to do this!

Happy New Year! Hope you enjoyed your holidays and your team is improving in the new year. In case you missed it, last week’s notable pickups are listed here:

By this time in the season, there aren’t alot of gems that will have value for the rest of the season. Most of the players will be short term pickups, keeping the starting spot warm for the injured starter. However, these pickups can be valuable and add up to alot of good stats if your timing is right. Lets get started!

Happy Holidays to you all! Despite the holidays, now is not the time to be lax with your fantasy basketball team! While others take a break and stuff themselves with food and enjoy new gifts, diamonds in the rough continue to appear on the waiver wire, like they did last week.

This week is no exception — read on!

Last week my company had a pretty big layoff, so you can imagine I spent alot of time saying good-byes to the unfortunate ones and reassuring my team of the future. Sorry for the hiatus (lack of an article) last week! Since my last article,
http://fantasysportsmatrix.com/blogs/sportsnut/fantasy_basketball_www6#
alot of developments have happened so lets get to the action!
Fantasy Basketball -- WWW#6
Last week I highlighted Ryan Gomes as a beneficiary of playing time due to injury of a teammate.

Last week
http://fantasysportsmatrix.com/blogs/sportsnut/fantasy_basketball_www4#
I noted potential waiver pickups based on the big Knicks-Warriors-Clippers related trades. As expected, Harrington and Lee ended up in the starting lineup for the Knicks, while the Warriors rotation is still a mess outside of Crawford, Jax and Biedrens. As for Clipper land, Kaman got injured shortly after the trade, so Z-Bo and Camby should see upticks as long as Caveman is out.
Although there was no notable trade activity last week, there are, of course, some new waiver gems that have emerged.

As I mentioned last week,

Andrew Morrow is a speculative add. However, I think the Warrior’s trade actually clarifies things a little, but not for Morrow. At least we know Crawford is the starting PG, so there’s no longer a need to speculate on CJ Wilson, Marcus Williams or whoever else throws up 5 assists in a game. So 3 of the 5 Warrior positions are locked in — S-Jax, Biedrens and Crawford. G’luck guessing the rest.
