49ers punter says he won't try to hit Cowboys scoreboard

2 points
Wednesday, August 26, 2009 - 10:43am

49ers punter Andy Lee insisted Tuesday that he would not treat the Dallas Cowboys’ video scoreboard like a 2,100-inch bull’s-eye. Really. Honestly. “Don’t lie. You want to break it,” kicker Joe Nedney yelled, eavesdropping on Lee’s testimony.

49ers cannot discard the pass

1 point
Wednesday, August 26, 2009 - 10:40am

The 49ers’ top three coaches have alternated speaking to the media during training camp this summer. Tuesday was a Jimmy Raye day.Not to take anything from coach Mike Singletary, a great speaker in his own right, or Greg Manusky, the colorful defensive coordinator who looks as if he could be assembling choppers on the Discovery Channel,

Foot traffic

He could have commandeered the first seat on the bus but Mike Singletary preferred to walk the 2 miles from the Raiders’ practice field in Napa to the 49ers’ team hotel.

Gore shows attitude in proving blocking skills

2 points
Wednesday, August 19, 2009 - 10:51am

Never in his five years with the 49ers has Gore looked more fired-up for a drill than he was Tuesday morning attacking the Raiders’ linebackers in blitz pickup. His enthusiasm was that of a zealot throwing himself into a frenzy of physicality. So committed to executing the drill to perfection was Gore that running backs coach Tom Rathman had to pull him out of his last rotation

Heyward-Bey gets start against Cowboys

Friday, August 14, 2009 - 12:07pm

Quarterback JaMarcus Russell wasted little time trying out his newest target. He lofted a deep pass for Heyward-Bey down the left sideline on Oakland’s third play. Cowboys safety Ken Hamlin broke up the pass, and Heyward-Bey was unable to snare the loose ball before it hit the ground.

Dallas Cowboys' preseason debut: Good, bad, score is ugly

That isn’t the way we want to start team-wise, I don’t think,” coach Wade Phillips said. “The individuals that we think are going to do well … did some good things. Some of those guys are where we want them to be. Others aren’t. Our second group and our young guys, they made a lot of mistakes

Do you think Ted Robinson doing radio for the 49ers is a good or bad omen?

2 points
Friday, August 14, 2009 - 11:59am
Some people don't even listen to the radio for games but some people (like me) think it's important for a team to have a good radio voice since network commentators suck so bad these days like Joe Buck.
It's bad since he's following a true legend in Joe Starkey
