Three Individual Matchups that Will Decide the Superbowl
Three Individual Matchups that Will Decide the Superbowl
Football is the ultimate team sport. Most of the 100+ players on the field Sunday will never touch the ball, but that doesn’t mean every position on the field isn’t vital to their teams success.
The individual matchups in the Super Bowl are like battles in a war- one battle may not make or break the war, but usually more battles must be won than lost in order to win the war.
Steelers WR Santonio Holmes vs. Cardinals CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
5 things I liked, 5 things I disliked about the Conference Championships
Liked:
1. How Arizona’s offense looks right now. The RBBC with James, Hightower, and Arrington isn’t spectacular, but it’s effective enough to open keep the defense honest. Of course, Warner is playing like a Madden-nerd versus the computer on the “Rookie” setting.
DEVIN THOMAS IN SKINS’ DOGHOUSE?
The article portrays Thomas as having a “surly” attitude and a “swagger” unjustified by his unproductive performance, going on to say that he’s more enamored of making his presence felt on the D.C. nightlife scene than in dedicating himself to realizing his potential.
Week 16 Thoughts and Such
Week 16 Thoughts and Such
2008’s elite come out of their slumps. While the media and “experts” have been condemning the NFC’s and AFC’s respective top teams because both had faltered recently, week 16 proved the past month was merely a slump.
With both “Cheddar Plaxico’s” deactivation and injuries to Tennessee defensive linemen Albert Haynesworth and Kyle Vanden Bosch, experts forgot why these teams were able to dominate the first half of the season: depth.
Week 15 Thoughts and Such
Early Morning Post-Final Football Thoughts
After waking up at the butt-crack of dawn to be tested on my understanding of the most basic and boring aspects of microeconomics, I finally had a chance to jot down some NFL thoughts:
The Giants look mortal again. After losing back-to-back games for the first time in what seems like forever, suddenly they aren’t such a lock to make it back to the Super Bowl. Philadelphia and Dallas both found ways to slow down the Giants’ offense.

The 1st Annual Sunday Awards: recognition of fantasy accomplishment during the 2008 NFL season….
Now that everyone’s fantasy regular season is over, it’s time to recognize those players who have made us couch-GM’s very happy or very rich this season. We will also recognize those players who’s underachieving or misfortunes made us very poor, as that TV with a shoe thrown though the screen could cost a lot to replace.
Jag's RB Fred Taylor and FB Greg Jones could be done for the year
Coach Jack Del Rio said on his radio show Tuesday that running back Fred Taylor could be placed on injured reserve because of a thumb injury suffered Sunday at Chicago. In addition, the club will place fullback Greg Jones (ankle) on injured reserve and is considering a similar move for receiver Jerry Porter, who suffered a strained groin against the Bears.
