Sifting through Affliction’s rubble
Affliction became the newest member on Friday of a group of which it wanted no part. It joined Bodog Fight, the World Fighting Alliance, the International Fight League, Elite XC and others on the list of mixed martial arts promotions that were backed by big money, big hype and big dreams before ending up as financial nightmares and failing. From Affliction’s start, the odds were greatly against success because of several major flaws in its business model.
Clippers' Gordon, Warriors' Randolph added to U.S. minicamp roster
Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Gordon and Golden State forward Anthony Randolph are heading to USA Basketball’s minicamp, while four players are pulling out. New York forward David Lee and Indiana’s Danny Granger will attend the minicamp but won’t participate.

This year, faces in the crowd included Paul Pierce, Chris Paul, James Posey, Kevin Durant, Ryan Gomes, Antawn Jamison, Sebastian Telfair, Rudy Gay and Kevin Love.

It took a minute, but I was able to secure a contract for four years,” Jack said in a phone interview Sunday night. “I’m looking forward to playing with Chris (Bosh) again. It will be like our freshman year (at Georgia Tech) all over again.”
Are the Bears deep enough at wide receiver?
The veteran Dallas Morning News scribe did an interesting breakdown of Super Bowl winners from 1991 to the present and how the makeup of offenses has changed. History proves you don’t need an elite receiver to win the Big Game — not anymore, anyway. It’s good news for the Bears, right? They have nine wideouts on their roster, and only two have more than seven career catches: Devin Hester and Rashied Davis.
