Will Barry Zito have a 20-loss season in 2008?

Poll submitted by NYSportsguy, 7 months ago

Barry Zito, who was given a tremendously large contract to be the SF Giants’ ace pitcher two years ago, just lost his 4th straight start today to the Arizona Diamobdacks to fall to 0-4 this season. Will Zito lose 20 gamers this season?

re: He has 1 more walk than strikeouts. He has no velocity. His curve isn’t effective. He has no run support. At least he won’t get injured? I take that back too actually. Kevin Correia or Brad Hennessy would probably win more games than Zito…

Pretty awful start But 20 games is a lot…I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, there…

He is No Ace Lincecum is the true ace of that pitching staff.

Barring any injuries I see Zito going 9-20 with a 5.43 ERA and maybe 120 K’s.

Zito I don’t know about 20 losses. Well, can’t go against him now that he’s got 4 losses this early! He’s lost his mojo somewhere between the huge deal and coming across the bay to SF. I think he could benefit from reassignment for a while, have him sort out his game and find his zen again.
