Which WR would you pick first for fantasy football 2008?

How much do you believe in the 3rd year theory? All of these WRs have questions surrounding them…

Will Santonio Holmes lose opportunities this year with Mendenhall possibly taking over short yardage and stealing from the passing game?

Will Wes Welker still be Wes Welker in 2008?

Will Greg Jennings have a QB (and will it be Favre)? Will Lee Evans resurge after such a down campaign last year?

Will he get a chemistry going with Trent Edwards?

Is Calvin Johnson the real deal?

Will Brandon Marshall get a suspension? Will his arm be healed?

I don’t put much faith in the 3rd year theory for WRs, but it will be Marshall’s third year this year. Cutler should improve with his diabetes under control, and Marshall is in line to be a huge part of the offense now that the running game is questionable. The only big knocks against him are a possible suspension from Goodell looming, his recovery from the offseason arm injury and the tough passing schedule that the Broncos face.

Overall, I’m willing to take the chance on him. He’ll see plenty of passes coming his way. Other than Wes Welker making us all look silly for not drafting him early again this year — which could happen if Randy Moss sees good coverage — or Greg Jennings/Lee Evans exploding with their new QBs under center, I don’t know that anyone else has as much potential upside on this list other than Marshall.
