Throwing at batters getting out of control?
In the wake of recent suspensions to the O’s and Yanks, is the head hunting that pitchers are doing getting out of control? It seems more en vogue to throw the ball over the guys head and make him eat the dirt rather than nail him between the numbers like it used to be. I guess this way pitchers don’t give up a free bag, it’s merely just a ball if the umpire lets it go.
Do they need to start awarding batters a base in these cases? Granted it’d be a judgment call since the ball isn’t actually hitting the batter but it’s not hard too tell.

It is a tough call, I agree. The problem is this: in a game steeped in tradition, where do you draw the line between how guys learned to play and the obvious safety concerns? It seems to me that things are different than the were back in the day (and let's not forget, some crazy stuff happened back then to. See Juan Marichal with a bat. One of the only guys Koufax brushed back and he flipped out.) Moving guys off the plate will always be part of the game, but since that base coach got killed the league will have to take a cautious approach. No base awarding, but more suspensions.
