This season will be Tedy Bruschi’s 14th season in the NFL. Throughout his years as a linebacker he has played for only one team the entire time – the New England Patriots. On Tuesday during an interview Bruschi was asked if he thinks he would continue with his career after this season or will he retire. His response was:
After you get past 10 (NFL seasons) I think that’s the way you have to do it because you never know what’s going to happen within a year. You just don’t,” he said. “So when the season’s over, you sort of reassess things, and that’s how it’s going to go again.”

Do you think he’ll be retiring after 2009? If he has a year like last year.. I guarantee we’ll be seeing Bruschi’s retirement speech all over SportsCenter for about a week straight by this time next year.

Bruschi should hang it up, as should the rest of the geriatrics that were on the Patriots LB corps. especially with that blood vessel thing that he had going on a couple years ago..retire while you’re still competent and healthy!
