selfish Wait, so the Packers don’t want Favre to come back, but if he does, they want him in Green Bay, but he’s Rodgers’ backup? Ridiculous. Smacks of selfishness and lacking serious respect. If you don’t want him, let him go. What haters.
Losing respect for Favre To tell you the truth, I’m losing respect for Brett Favre in all of this mess. I hope it’s all just a bunch of rumors and misinformation.
Favre was so indecisive about retiring in the first place, and now, weeks before training camp with Aaron Rodgers preparing to the be the starter for the first time, he wants to come back? More than that, if Green Bay doesn’t want to give him the starting job and welcome him with open arms, he wants a trade? Does Favre not realize that he is asking a lot of a team that stood by him for many years?
Granted, the guy showed he still had it last year, but what a confidence burn to Rodgers if Favre asks to come back and takes the starting job weeks before he was set to be the leader of this team. Plus, Favre would be sitting Rodgers once again so that Rodgers potential starting opportunity in 2009 will be his final year of his contract.
Favre is being pretty selfish in throwing such a big fit about this right now. The team management doesn’t want to ruin or potentially endanger their future for Favre to have his one last year of glory. Favre should have waited to retire if he was going to be this fickle.
