I’ll be the first to say I’m not a huge basketball fan, nor am I particularly as versed as some here on FSM on the game of hoops, but it looks like the Boston Celtics are in trouble. I mean, you are undefeated in the playoffs at home and you can’t win a game to save your life on the road and then they lose at home to the Pistons? The Celtics haven’t won a game on the road in a while against lesser competition (I mean, the Hawks?) and now they have to go to Detroit and try to win one there? I don’t think so.
Factor in the quality of play of the Pistons, in particular Richard Hamilton and you have reason to worry if you’re a Celtics fan.
This is a call to awakening for the Celtics. If they don’t heed it, they will be doomed to failure. And if they don’t find a way to win on the road, they are toast. All that talk about a Celtics-Lakers final will be for naught. This is the stuff champions are made of. Can the Celtics respond? We’ll find out real soon.
re The Celtics definitely need to prove that they can win on the road, in the playoffs. They had the best road record during the regular season, so at least we know that they have it in them somewhere. Credit definitely has to go to the Pistons as well. They are playing some really good basketball, last night’s game was great to watch. I think Garnett has to step up defensively and on the glass in order for them to steal one in Detroit.
