....When Randolph Macon College outside of Richmond is listed among the top twenty party schools in the United States according to the Princeton Review. Among the top 20 schools, only Randolph Macon is not a Division I school athletically (they are Division III). My Penn State is ranked third. I would be remiss if I did not mention the big time series in baseball this week. You have the ChiSox and Minnesota….Florida-NY Mets…...oh, and the Cubs and Brewers. I missed the end of last night’s exciting Cubs win. These series already bring a playoff atmosphere…and it’s only late July! Exciting times ahead!

The Braves hiccuped and traded Mark Teixeiria to the Angels for Casey Kotchman and a pitching prospect. Did the braves give up early? Yes…but they get something now rather than nothing later. But…did they get enough? I don’t believe they did. It’s just weird seeing the braves make these kinds of deals; in the past, they were on the other end. How quick times change. So does this make the Angels the team to beat? I felt before this trade, the Angels would go very far, if not win (I know, my revised thinking). This makes them very tought, but something deep in the pit of my tummy says not so fast…..

Brett Faver applied for his reinstatement papers with the NFL. What will be next I wonder?? Can you really see him playing for the Jets???

History is (was when y’all read this) being made Tuesday when minor league baseball visits Wrigley Field. The Perioa Cubs, managed by the great Ryne Sandberg, will be playing there and I’m sure it’s big thrill for involved. 30,000+ could see this game.

And finally…and I’m so far behind the curve on this….did anyone see Ken Griffey give the “slash” sign toward announcer Jeff Branlry over the weekend. The last person I would expect to do this would be Junior. Read more here: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/Brantley-says-Grif...

Wasn’t this slash thing banned from the NFL or NBA??

Remember when Tuesdays were the days you would get excited about seeing the new record releases? I miss those days…

Fav-ray and the Pack whatever happens with this team I’m just happy to know that this team is done for this year whether Favre comes back or not. if he comes back, he’ll play like he did 3 out of the last 4 years. if he is moved, and Rodgers plays? well, expect Aaron to get hurt within 4 weeks and then Brohm will get the nod and win 2-3 games or something like that. -bB

No Jets Wow, didn’t expect that team to throw their hat in the ring for the services for Fav-ray.

Go to Carolina, Brett!
