Sports In The World Of 911 and Hurricane Ike

We all know what today is. The blank space below is my moment of silence and the amount of space should be perspective about the world we live in

We love sports and sports gives us the means to deal with a world that is most often cruel and heartless. I can only hope that we can give up our sometimes frivolous games and realize that there are people fighting not only for our freedom, but also the hope that we never see a 911 ever again. God bless to all of those who lost loved ones that dreadful day in 2001.

Hurricane Ike is also looking like it could be worse than Katrina and the sports world is debating whether or not the Cubs and Astros will be playing at a neutral site. We can only hope some sort of common sense eventually wins, but in the grand scheme of things, I say Who Cares? I mean, shouldn’t we be worried if everyone in the affected area gets out safe and sound?

I love sports, but days like today make me feel guilty.

Tomorrow: I will preview the big events of the weekend. Look out for my college football, NFL and baseball previews, reviews and picks.

Never Forget…....
